Description
Methyl Methacrylate, commonly referred to as MMA, Methacrylic acid methyl ester, or Methyl 2-methylprop-2-enoate, is an organic compound characterized by the molecular formula C4H80. This substance exists as a clear, colorless, and volatile liquid possessing a distinctive odor.
MMA demonstrates limited water solubility while being compatible with the majority of organic solvents. The compound serves as a highly effective and multifunctional solvent applicable to thinners, cleaning agents, coatings, adhesives, plastics, construction materials, reactive resins, and textile processing applications.
The product is stabilized through the addition of 40-50 ppm Methyl Ethyl Hydroquinone (MEHQ) to inhibit unwanted polymerization reactions.
